GB Open Karate Championships – May 2023 – Results

On Sunday 7th May 2023 ESKA members representing the TSKUK attended the biannual Championship the GB OPEN held by the ESKF. The championships were held at the University of Birmingham.

Here is a breakdown of the results:

Seniors Individual Kata – 18 Years+ – Novice to 4th Kyu – Male

Bronze – Scott Prentice (ESKA)

Veterans Individual Kata –  36  Years+ – Novice to 4th Kyu – Female

Gold -Wenqi Zhang (ESKA)

Children’s Pairs – 12 Years & Under – 3rd Kyu and Above – Mixed

Bronze – Lily Nudd (ESKA) / Lena Gryczaniuk (ESKA)

Childrens Individual Shobu Nihon Kumite – 10 – 12 Years –  3rd Kyu and Above – Female 145cm+

Gold – Lena Gryczaniuk (ESKA)

Bronze – Sidney Scott (ESKA) / Daisy Toone (ESKA)

Seniors Individual Shobu Sanbon Kumite – 18 Years+ – 3rd Kyu and Above – Male 75kg+

Silver – Max Threadwell (ESKA)

Veterans A (36 – 49 Years) – Individual Shobu Sanbon Kumite – Open Grade – Male

Silver – Francis Karemo (ESKA)

Seniors Team Rotational Kumite – 18 Years+ – Open Grade – Male

Bronze – Max Threadwell (ESKA) / Francis Karemo (ESKA) / Mark Jarred (ESKA)

The ESKA Squad took 9 Medals: 2 Gold / 2 Silver / 5 Bronze.
